In a world of different jobs and occupations, no profession could be compared to the waiter's job. It has its bad characteristics, but mostly its good sides. Let us mention that those who do not have faith in themselves and do not have the will to work hard and learn more every day, will hardly make a career in this industry. Working with people is one of the most difficult jobs. In most cases, the best waiters are those who adhere to the code of good behavior that comes from their home, respect for colleagues, honesty in work, and kindness to the guests. As a member of our team once said:

 "The waiters have to be the best actors in the world and perform in front of their guests, even though, behind their kind smiles sometimes lie hundreds of problems."

School vs. Work

The experience and the knowledge you gain by working on the floor with other professional waiters could never be learned in school. On the other hand, working in any restaurant or hotel will never teach you the things you will learn in the school.

But mind you, with both school and experience, the result will not be satisfactory if you do not have the will to work hard and do the waiters job right!

The Pros and Cons

 As we said, being a waiter sometimes involves a lot of stress, hard work, and long hours, but if you have a love for the job you will enjoy doing it and make good money. Traveling, living in different cities, learning foreign languages and trying different dishes and cuisines and so on, are just some of the advantages and better sides of the Hospitality Industry.

Every day you can meet people of importance, influential, celebrities ... and make contact with them in a special way and maybe even a new friendship.

From the moment you position yourself as a top waiter, you may become their “best friend” and when the regular guests come to the restaurant, they will ask for you because they have trust in you and your work.

-Flexible working hours - you can work early in the morning and spend the evenings at home, or you can work in the evenings and spend the mornings in bed. Name another job that gives you that!

-Travel and Living - working on cruise liners, airplanes, or simply deciding to move to another country and settle down there. With our job that happens easily as long as you are really good at it!

-Making a career - if you are determined to grow and become a manager, this job gives you a tremendous opportunity to grow in just a few short years! You can grow from a waiter to a manager in 2 years if you want it and if you have it in you!

-Free of tax income - you don't think much about it but the TIP that we are making is a tax-free income! Except from the illegal activities, no other job offers you that!

-Opportunity to earn a lot of money without much education - if you have the communication skills and you want to put the effort to become a great waiter - nothing can stop you from landing a great job and making tons of money! -Working with a lot of other young people from all over the world ready to party and have fun as much as you do - don't underestimate the party life of the waiter. Not many other jobs will connect you with so many beautiful people from every corner of the world!

-Free time - I know a lot of people will think I am crazy for saying that but it is true! I know many people working 4 - 5 months a year and traveling the world for the rest of the time. Can a banker do that? NO! In just four months, waiters earn enough money to chill for the rest of the year. It's a fact!

Final take

The waiters' job has many other positives! But you have to be prepared to go through the pain and the hardship in the beginning. Remember, nothing comes easy!

So, if you have decided to step into that world and make a career in that profession, be aware that without extensive knowledge, will and composure, you do not have much of a chance. Bring all that to the floor daily, and you could become successful and live an amazing life!
